In New Zealand (and Australia), the whole Nocellara del belice olive is known as the Sicilian olive. Sicily is amongst the premiere regions for producing the world’s best olives and olive oils.
We select a larger calibre of the green whole Sicilian olives that are plump, crisp firm fresh, and a flavour that is sweet and mild with a slight buttery, nutty note that makes them a popular table olive. They are also used to produce olive oil. The colour of the ripe fruit is a vivid green and Nocellara del belice are picked at the right time to retain their bright green hue. They are rich in vitamin E, also contain special phytochemicals that have anti-inflammatory properties and have been linked to cancer prevention. Great for salads, appetizers, sandwiches, breads and pizza.
